Uttar Pradesh Day also referred to as UP Diwas or Uttar Pradesh Diwas in Hindi, is celebrated as foundation day of Indian state, Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is celebrating its foundation day today. The day was started celebrating only after Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath led government came to power in the state. On 24 January 1950, the United Provinces was renamed as Uttar Pradesh. In May 2017, the Government of Uttar Pradesh declared to celebrate UP Day on 24 January every year. The celebration of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day was proposed by the Honourable governor Shri Ram Naik.

This year the theme of Uttar Pradesh Divas is ‘Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh :  Women, youths, Farmers: Development of all, Honour to All.’  Sabka Vikas Sabka Samman ‘. Dignitaries and people contributing in different fields will be honoured on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Sthapna Divas.
